If steering your car has become unusual or difficult, unfortunately, ignoring it won’t make it go away. A problematic steering system can get worse over time, can wear out your tires quickly, and cause your vehicle to be unsafe to drive. Because uncorrected alignment issues can lead to hundreds of dollars of tire replacement and suspension repair, we recommend scheduling an alignment check every 6 months or 6,000 miles.

Any of these symptoms may show that you need service or repairs to your vehicle’s alignment, steering, drivetrain or suspension system:

Precise Alignment, Steering, and Suspension Service

With every alignment, we perform a complete steering and suspension system inspection. By replacing worn parts, you’ll regain steering control, which will improve driving performance. Here’s what Convoy Auto Repair will cover:

  • Inspect steering and suspension system including tire condition and air pressure
  • Put vehicle on alignment rack, mount and compensate sensors
  • Print out alignment readings

Based on your vehicle’s construction, your Convoy Auto Repair service advisor will recommend one of two types of alignments:

1. All-Wheel Full Adjustable Alignment

For vehicles with adjustable rear suspensions, we adjust the front and rear wheels perfectly parallel to the vehicle’s geometric centerline. The results are four wheels parallel with the steering wheel perfectly centered.

2. All-Wheel Thrust Angle Alignment

For vehicles with non-adjustable rear suspension, we determine the rear wheels’ thrust line (the direction in which they push) and then adjust the front wheels to be perfectly parallel with the rear thrust line. The results are front wheels precisely aligned with the thrust line of the rear wheels, all four wheels parallel and the steering wheel perfectly centered.
